NDDOT Hiring Range: $9,162/ month

Snow and Ice Planning and Implementation:

Develop maintenance priorities – establishing short- and long-term goals.
Develop staffing patterns.
React to emergencies: 7 days/week, 24 hours/day.
Prepare snow and ice control plan.
Monitor all maintenance operations for effectiveness.
Develop seasonal load restrictions.
Coordinate, Plan and Budget District Maintenance Operations:

Assist district engineer in budget preparation.
Monitor budget and maintenance contract administration.
Participate in interview and hire process, evaluating performance and recommending disciplinary actions.
Review and approve purchases, monitor inventory control.
Assist in monitoring current condition of district highways.
Review utilization of district maintenance personnel and equipment.
Develop and implement district-wide plan for equipment needs – recommending any changes to maximize resources.
Development and training of maintenance forces.
Prepare work documents required for maintenance forces projects and section operations.
Reviewing and Permitting Approach and Draining Requests:

Review, approve and/or resolve requests and problems of general public and staff.
Provide assistance to political subdivisions.
Analyze and recommend solutions to complex, special, and emergency problems.
Keep general public informed on maintenance issues – prepare news releases.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree with a major in civil engineering, construction, or construction management
Five years of supervisory or management experience that required the knowledge and skills to manage staff involved in diverse work activities or to coordinate various phases of maintenance or construction projects.
Requires a class D driver’s license to travel to public meetings and project locations.
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check and driving records check.
