NDDOT Hiring Range: $5,579/ month
As Highway Traffic Control Supervisor, you will maintain the road signs, guardrail, and temporary striping on roadways for the safety of the traveling public.
Job Duties Include:
Repair and direct installments of signs, delineators, guardrails and lighting, which includes assuring all installations are according to specifications, noting signs that need to be repaired or replaced, and having thorough knowledge of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Maintain traffic signals, traffic signal controllers, cameras and associated traffic signal devices.
Coordinate and oversee GIS guardrail inspection and training for district employees.
Operate equipment related to signing and striping, including portable pavement marking machine, mini-striper, sign erection truck, paint sprayers, and hand and power tools.
Maintain inventory by initiating paperwork to maintain inventory control of signs, posts, paint, beads, guardrails, delineators and equipment.
Supervise a sign fabricator and temporary workers as required. This includes assigning duties, providing instructions and guidance, and performing duties with employees. You will also evaluate subordinates and recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
May be required to assist with District snow removal operations during significant winter weather events.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires high school diploma or GED and five years of experience in the repair and installation of traffic control devices. Must possess a valid Class B driver’s license, non-air brake restricted on the first day of work. Class A driver’s license preferred.
Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and satisfactory reference check. Employment is contingent upon passing the job function screening process.
